New Kids in FlipSpin Cavite

FlipSpin Cavite get bigger today as the new players in Bacoor, Cavite gathered last Feb. 3, 2013 to meet the senior members of FlipSpin YoYo Komunidad.

Special Thanks to Jehric Flores for editing this good video and Nash Saipun for capturing this great scenes at the clubmeet.

Experience at YoYoMafia Battle 2013

Another contest past again, that day was eventful and I really enjoy that time. If ever I missed the YoYoMafia Battle 2013, I regret it forever.

My second time to be judge in a yoyo contest and It wasn't hard because I gain experience but it was very tiring after long hours of sitting and keeping my eyes open wide to clearly see every players move. It was really tiring but it's fun.

I also got a free event t-shirt from Beast of East a.k.a BEASTERN. Special thanks to Bryan Jardin.

Whose freestyles I enjoyed watching while on the judging table?

I really like the 2A freestyles of Kenneth Santiago and Martin Desamito. They both improve since PNYYC 2012.

Paolo Alto's 5A stills amaze me although he have some flaws but his tricks are great.

Manuel Tolentino's always-funny 1A freestyle make us laugh with his routine in the tune of Tagalized version of "Teach How to Dougie". He made it look like a parody version of Shinji Saito's 1A freestyle at EJ 2013.

And of course, John Elias Ibarra's champion freestyle plus the very festive music creates a BOOM in the event. Making everyone scream whenever he make his tricks.

While we were in finishing the results of the contest, the demo of DCP Edmund San Antonio together with the YoYoMafia was very funny and makes me laugh for the time. The audience who watched have enjoyed the Cha-Cha YoYo Demo. Although Edmund didn't enjoyed because it was embarrassing for him.

I bring a laptop that day and of course the venue have WiFi, I checked my Facebook account and posted some updates in the contest. Many players didn't attend the contest, so they're online and waiting for the news.

A contest wouldn't be complete for me if  I don't have a picture together with my team.

And I also have a picture with my co-judges at the contest.

It's A Blog Thing

Back to blogging stuffs again. Better to continue this because I found a way to update my blog even if I rarely use the internet and have few bucks in my wallet to afford long hours of computer rentals in an internet café. Now I have ideas to write, I must continue blogging. And I'm gonna write also the events in yoyoing community especially the YoYo Mafia Battle 2013, where I'll be in the judging table again. I don't like to repost anything here. Although it's easy but I wanna post original stuffs here in my blog.

The reason why I took a break in blogging is that my computer broke last August 2012. It look me long to find a way to have internet access and write my articles in a computer. Well, it's not a problem anymore for me so I can update both FlipSpin.org and this blog, my personal blog.

So, what stuffs I gonna post here?

I got an idea from watching youtube videos of toy collectors who usually upload toy reviews but also they post video blogs or VLOG. I also make my own vlog. Here's the one I did when I have a trip in Tagaytay with my friends.

I'll post something like this again in the future. There is no definite time when I'll make vlog again but I'll try to make one at least one vlog per month

Also, read the article that I wrote about my misadventures in Tagaytay with my friends, Preslie Saraza and Manuel Tolentino. Here's the link http://jkmandawe.blogspot.com/2013/02/misadventure-in-tagay-tay.html

This 2013, marks my 10th year of yoyoing and 5th year in FlipSpin. What makes me to have an interest in yoyoing? Check this out...

Super YoYo Comics
In 2003, Super YoYo aired in GMA-7 and this anime is very popular here in the Philippines and that time, yoyoing catches the interest of the kids who wants to play as cool as the characters in the anime.

I'm gonna write about these Super YoYo Comics which told the yoyo journey of Shunichi and the rest of the gang that did not continue on the anime.

And that's it for now, folks. I'll be posting other articles and more vlogs in the future. Thanks for reading my articles and good luck those who will join in the YoYo Mafia Battle 2013 on saturday at SM City Marikina.

Misadventure in Tagay, 'tay!

Last month the North-East Monsoon a.k.a Hanging Amihan pass through to the country and cools the every places in Luzon especially in the northern part. This season makes everyone to take a trip in cool places like Baguio City. With this weather, it eases me to sleep at night and always wanting a hot cup of green tea.

All of a sudden my friend, Preslie, ask us in Facebook, who wants to visit in Tagaytay City. And then Manuel told me to go also even we don't have any plans what to do there and that story lead to an another misadventures with my buddies again.

Our travel starts at 6 P.M. and we took a ride in an ordinary bus. While traveling to Tagaytay, I feel the wind become cooler and cooler so I wear my jacket even we are still in Dasmariñas. Having 300 Pesos (7.37 US Dollars)only in my wallet, Manuel also have few bucks in his pocket and Preslie have lower money than mine, we only eat in a small carinderia and have a bowl of Bulalo Soup.

With only 49 pesos (1.20 US Dollars), you can have a hot bowl of Bulalo Soup with a cup of rice in this cheap restaurant.

From left: Manuel, Preslie and John Regala...
After the dinner, we decided to walk since we don't have much money and we came in Tagaytay at night so some parks and attractions are closed.

During that time, we took some videos. Check these clips and their Evil Laughs HA! HA! HA! (evil laugh)

Preslie's Evil Laugh Joke

When we reached to Olivarez, we hang in Mcdo for few hours but we didn't order any food and after that rest, Manuel and Preslie bought burgers in Angel's.

Visits Tagaytay to eat BUY 1TAKE 1 Burgers. So freaking smart for having so low budget money...
Tagay, 'tay!!!
At 12 midnight, the real adventures starts. We walk again and that time we took this path to...

The track that we walked on...

Yeah right, we walked the very long road (for a walker) from Aguinaldo Highway to People's Park in the Sky.

Of course, we shoot some yoyo vids and took some great photos with my digicam along the road.

Took by Manuel. Kinda look like an unfinished speed painting.
Horrifying tree plus red light for effect.
Nightmare at Calamba Road.
Preslie as a Monster
Chubby Kapre
Run for your lives!
Okay, enough of scary photos. Peace! :D
Our travel is not that very tiring because we are chatting, telling jokes and scary stories, took vids and photos, etc. while walking and we didn't notice that we are far away from our starting point. And at the middle of Calamba Road, we decided to have a rest in a convience store for few hours.

Taking nap outside the 7-11...

We resume the death march... I mean our walk travel to People's Park around 5 A.M.

The view of Taal Volcano.

The series of street lights ends and we are still walking. Thankfully it is already morning so it's not dark on the road.

Still able to smile even tired of walking and sleepless.

Few more steps and we'll reach the destination.

After many hours of long walk, we finally reached the People's Park in the Skyyyyyyyy. Then we wait for an hour before the park is open. The place is very windy and our yoyos are flying when we're playing.

Can't opened eyes wide because of the strong wind.
I'm still alive...
Honestly we were very tired when we enter the People's Park but still have enough energy to have fun and take some photos and videos again.

I wanna see this in the dark with a red light just like the tree that we saw along the road.

Check these other videos clips that we took while in the People's Park in the Sky and the compilation video of our whole misadventures in Tagaytay.

My first video blog or VLOG...

and also...

... Tagay, 'tay! Video Clip

Why did I wrote Tagay, 'tay! instead of simply Tagaytay? If you know the joke of "Alamat ng Tagaytay" (Legend of Tagaytay in English), you'll dig it.

Next time I visit Tagatay again, I'll have bigger budget to afford anything there, buy buko pie in Collete's (even though there is Collete's Buko Pie branch near at my place haha) and have a big bowl of Special Bulalo Soup.
